Before I Begin...

So this is my first EVER blog post. I am not entirely sure what to do but I really want to share with you some of the things I find enjoyable, and stress relieving because, c'mon, most of my free time is spent trying to relax and still get things done. Before I begin that, however, I want to introduce myself so you can understand my dilemmas, my background, and my glories.
I am just a small town girl, like really small, from a class of about 50 kids. I grew up knowing each and every person, and their family, and their family's family. And honestly, I am so thankful for growing up in a life like that. I'm in my early 20's but I act like a 75-year-old grandmother most days and I am sure you will see that here in the near future. I come from a hardworking and honest family, and since I was a toddler, worked on the farm with them. I love being outside in the field, seeing the crops grow & flourish, and smelling the fresh air that even I take for granted sometimes. This love grew into a career. I went to college for Agronomy (which is basically the science behind the farming) and I work a full-time job in my field.
This is a photo of the wheat we had growing on our family farm.

However wonderful that is though, my goal in life is to be a farmer's wife and mother. My boyfriend and I met in college because of our majors and have been dating since sophomore year (yes, I am not-so-patiently waiting on a ring). I am so thankful for him as we share so many similar goals and although we have big dreams (farmhouse, farm, lots of kids), I have no doubt that we will make it there someday.
So now that you know about a little bit of where I came from I can tell you my purpose for this blog. I LOVE to cook. It is one of the most stress relieving things in my life. I stress bake when things get really bad. Recently, I have gotten into baking homemade bread, mostly due to the fact that my kind, wonderful boyfriend got me the KitchenAid mixer I had been pining after for a few years. My goal is to show you my cooking experiences. I am someone who can only kind of come up with her own recipes so most of my cooking relies on some recipe somewhere with a few tweaks to make it my own.
I also LOVE to work with yarn. I love the fact that I can turn on the TV, sit on the couch and still get something done, whether its a washcloth because my puppy chewed one up or a blanket for a friend for Christmas. I was taught to knit by my grandmother when I was in grade school so I could participate in 4-H projects. I think knitting is so cool! I mean its just a bunch of loops pulled through and knotted off at the end! However, I am not the most patient person so most of my knitting projects are small so I can see progress much quicker than if I was trying to make a blanket. I am a self-taught crocheter. I just recently used Youtube videos to help me learn to crochet. I find it much quicker than knitting so blankets might be in the near future for me. I am so excited to show you what I make and share patterns I have found and what I have found works for me the best.
I hope you all enjoy this blog and can share in my successes and failures and share your own discoveries and feel free to ask any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability

Much Love,
Taylor
