Face Scrubbies
Hello!
A big thing in today's society for women is makeup. I remember when it was just Maybelline and Loreal that would advertise and now we have companies like Sephora selling higher priced makeup than I would probably ever purchase. Now I know that there are tons of people that need the higher priced, higher quality makeup to keep acne away, but I guess I was just blessed with some good skin genes because I have really never had a problem.
It wasn't until college that I started wearing makeup every day. Now I have a super simple routine because my job does not require me to look like I spent an hour and a half on my face alone. I wash and moisturize at night, moisturize in the morning and apply a liquid foundation, powder, eyeliner, and waterproof mascara. That's it. Yes. That is it. Honestly, makeup is not the most important thing in my routine in the morning (it is usually making sure my dog gets enough exercise to not keep me up the next night).
That being said, one thing that is important to my routine is cleaning my face off. And this is the part that took me the longest to establish. However, now that I have, my face is thanking me. Just to quickly share the products I use before I move on to the ultimate point of this post, here is a list:
-Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water 3-in-1 Waterproof (the blue one)
-Garnier Skinactive The Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser
-a knitted face scrubbie
-Olay Complete Cream All Day Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin.
This has kept my skin smooth and acne free for quite a long time now. I hope that you can find something as simple that works for you.
Now on to the discussion. The Face Scrubbie. This is such a simple pattern, and works so well and is durable. Its soft enough for sensitive skin like mine and rough enough to really work the cleanser in without stripping your skin and drying it out. This pattern is a knitted pattern that can be changed and adjusted to however you would like to have it.
Needles
I used a size 7 pair of aluminum needles. You could also go smaller for a tighter gauge or larger for looser.
Yarn
I used Hobby Lobby's I Love This Cotton! For projects that are going to be used in the water a lot, cotton works much better than an acrylic. Plus, for this project, acrylic would be too rough to use on your face daily!
Pattern
This pattern is for the seed stitch. This stitch is used in a lot of other projects and is super easy
Cast on 14 stitches.
Row 1: *K1, P1* until the end
Row 2: *P1, K1* until the end
Row 3-14: Continue repeating these two rows until you have gotten 14 rows or the length you want the project.
Cast Off.
See? Super simple. I use these every day on my face. They are so cheap and easy to make, I can finish one in about 30 minutes, so if you need a new one for the day, spare a half hour! They wash up really nicely in the washer with your clothes also, so cleaning them is a breeze. This is what the stitch will look like, just on a small scale.
I hope you enjoy this and maybe it can help solve any skin problems you have. Please feel free to share and pin this post also!
Much Love,
Taylor
